Safety doesn’t mean to spend a lot of money in expensive elements, safety is basically a culture that must be followed by all the members of the company. Safey means to behave properly in every situation to avoid proactively an accident and it doesn’t mean to spend money. For example work permit is a basic tools that must be implemented in the factory that avoids lots of accidents with the proper analysis. Another thing is that safety means to install the right elements / tools to avoid accidents, so again it doesn’t mean lots of money. Another things is because of safety is a culture should be embedded in the engineering design, so since the beginning.

Because of this culture, safety should be embedded in the engineering design, procedures, methodologies etc. This will avoid a lot of extra costs later. As a resume, safety is a mixture of culture and investments that should not be extremely expensive if it is done on time and in the right moment.

Del mismo modo que prestar atención a nuevas tecnologías o procesos que contribuyan a la mejora continua, se necesita un enfoque similar en los procesos que con las instalaciones actuales puedan mejorar la productividad, la seguridad y los costos. Imprescindible es dar participación en estos esfuerzos al personal implicado en los procesos, son esos empleados que diariamente los ejecutan quienes pueden aportar peque?os cambios que mejoren la performance, ya que son expertos en sus tareas, y quienes tienen más oportunidades de descubrir esas mejoras.
