Manufacturing should not occur, if there is a significant risk to the health and safety of employees or the external environment. All the outputs from the production run will be offset by worker compensation costs and notices of violation. Additionally, if production is occurring and producing poor quality products, then there is the risk of consumer safety and poor customer relations. Having those “4” elements built into the core of the business will help leverage productivity with increased employee engagement and positive benefits to the organization. Further, productivity initiatives should have these elements integrated into their process.

Absolutely! Safety must always come first. While optimizing systems and boosting productivity are essential, they must never compromise the well-being of our workforce. By prioritizing safety, we are not only fulfilling our ethical obligations but also ensuring long-term sustainability.
