The Lean Culture is Zero Waste Mindset and the biggest Waste in the manufacturing you have to fight and avoid any net Production TIME LOSS (DownTime) So if we supposed to loose many time of net production hours due to any reason as like as Quality issues and so on... it's not lean culture any more! And what we have to do is to FULLY FIX all the 4M problem solving of 4M issues(4M = Machine, Man, Material, Method) by the concept of TPM which TPM is standing for 724 net Production (724 = 7 days * 24 hours of net good production) Finally if we want to implement "Lean in Manufacturing" supposed to be run our manufacturing line 724 to avoid any Time loss as well as any Quality and othe other type of losses (Muda) at the end. By focusing on value stream mapping, you can identify every step in a process and eliminate anything that doesn’t add value, thereby streamlining operations. This method ensures that every action contributes to the final product’s quality without cutting corners.

In my experience, in Lean Manufacturing, the goal is to optimize process speed to reduce lead times and respond quickly to customer demand while maintaining high product standards. Achieving this balance requires refining processes to be as efficient as possible, which often includes standardizing work, balancing workloads, and using Just-In-Time (JIT) production to minimize inventory. The key is to find the sweet spot where speed and quality intersect without compromising either.

For me, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as cycle time, throughput, and First Pass Yield (FPY) provide valuable insights into how well your production process is performing. Regularly reviewing these metrics can highlight areas where speed may be impacting quality or vice versa. By using these insights, you can make informed decisions to fine-tune your processes for optimal performance.

In my experience, it involves ongoing efforts to enhance products, services, and processes through incremental changes over time. These improvements can boost both speed and quality, ensuring that production processes are efficient, and output meets high standards. By regularly soliciting feedback from the production floor and analyzing defect rates, patterns can be identified, and solutions can be implemented to enhance both the pace and the quality of manufacturing.

Engaged workers are more likely to take ownership of their tasks and show a commitment to maintaining standards while working efficiently. Encouraging a culture where employees are empowered to suggest improvements and are trained to perform their tasks with precision not only improves morale but also fosters an environment where excellence and efficiency are the norm.
