I guess communication is a key element. Everyone has their own set of opinions, but as an Account what matters are the principles of accounting which primarily translate to transparent reporting. Clearly communicating the logic behind the reporting requirements and the long run branding advantage of being transparent is the key. Everyone has ego, more so Accountants. It's very important to be inclusive and consider everyone's opinions but assert the right opinion with respect works.
