1 Acknowledge your mistake

The first step is to admit your mistake and take responsibility for it. Don't try to hide, deny, or blame others for what happened. This will only make things worse and erode your credibility. Instead, be honest, humble, and respectful. Apologize to those who were affected by your error and explain what went wrong. Showing accountability and integrity will help you maintain your professionalism and earn respect from your colleagues and managers.

Mistakes are inevitable; it's how we respond that matters.Not acknowledging and learning from them leads to serious consequences. Quick action tips to convert mistakes into learning opportunities: Start with acceptance & acknowledgement of mistakes. Was the situation under my control? Reflect what happened and why did it happen? What could I have done to avoid it? How can I correct it now? What have I learnt? What I will do to ensure that I do not repeat? Golden tip- Start making a Learning Diary, capture mistakes & learnings! When we write down, it get recorded in our subconscious and there are very high chances of those learning staying with us. Take 100% responsibilities for your actions instead of blaming others.

Identificar que has cometido un error es el primer paso, el más simple y, en ocasiones, el más complejo. Se requiere una gran capacidad para para entender que errar no es un defecto sino que es normal por parte de cualquier persona y que no merma tus capacidades, sino que indica que eres una persona con capacidad de aprendizaje, dispuesta a arriesgarse y a mejorar. Premio doble el identificar tu mismo el error e informarlo.

Primero debes volver a pensarte en esa situación, cómo estabas anímicamente, cual era tu contexto, que análisis realizaste para tomar esa decisión que no resultó ser satisfactoria. Analizado el contexto, luego debes pensar cual era realmente la solución o la opción correcta y con esto pensar en herramientas que te permitan no volver a cometer el mismo error. Alguna técnica Poke-Yoke, alguna metodología de concentración, algún indicador por colores, etc.

Fundamental escuchar a tus pares, aprender no solo de tus errores sino también de los ajenos y que los demás aprendan de los tuyos. Es una gran herramienta donde puedes aprender que hubieran hecho otras personas en tu lugar y poder pensar en estrategias que tal vez nunca habrías evaluado. O tal vez buscar a alguien experto que pueda instruirte u orientarte sobre que estudios debes tomar para mejorar.

The fourth step is to make a plan and take action to correct your mistake and prevent it from happening again. Depending on the nature and severity of the error, you may need to take different actions, such as: Fixing the problem or finding a solution; Communicating the resolution or updating the stakeholders; Implementing changes or improvements; Taking training or coaching; Developing new habits or routines. Write down your plan and set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals. Then, follow through with your plan and track your progress.
