No matter how perfect you are, there are times when you tend to make mistakes at work not by purpose but by mistake. Stand up for yourself, own your mistake, analyze how bad it is and acknowledge it. Then rectify it and show that you are willing to learn and grow from it. Bounce back without pulling yourself down. Be empathetic to yourself too & keep a positive attitude. This will regain trust and credibility with your team.

Making a mistake at work can feel like a setback, but it's also an opportunity to show your team how you handle challenges with integrity. Regaining trust and credibility starts with owning up to the mistake openly and honestly. Acknowledge the error, explain what happened without making excuses, and most importantly, share the steps you’ll take to ensure it doesn’t happen again. This shows accountability and a commitment to improvement. Next, follow through with the necessary actions, demonstrating reliability and consistency. Lastly, be patient. Trust is rebuilt over time, and showing that you're committed to growth and learning will earn the respect of your team. Mistakes are inevitable, but how we respond defines you as a person.
