You can become an audio engineer, focusing on perfecting sound quality for podcasts and other media. Roles in post-production, like sound editing and mixing, are also options, allowing you to craft the final audio experience. You might explore being a producer, overseeing the entire podcast creation process, or a content creator, developing engaging scripts and episode ideas. With your hands-on experience, you could also work in technical support, helping others solve audio issues. These paths offer exciting opportunities to leverage your skills in the growing podcasting industry.

I've always taught the producer to really reach within the "theater of the mind" realm. Depending on the product, you should be able to immerse yourself into the audio allowing the listener to create their own mental imagery of what they're hearing. None the less, the overall message is: Tight is right. The start and end of individual tracks should be clean of "dead air" or "dead roll". Keep a clean multi-track session. Nothing's worse than an audio clip hidden and out of place to mess up a final.

Leverage your internship experience by showcasing specific projects where you contributed to content creation, highlighting your role in developing themes, scripting, or narrative crafting. Continuously refine your storytelling skills by studying successful podcasts and understanding what captivates their audiences. Experiment with different formats and genres to broaden your creative range. Build a portfolio that includes diverse examples of your work, from concept development to final production.

Create a demo reel that showcases your range and versatility in different voice roles, such as hosting, narrating, or character voices. Include clips from your internship, as well as any personal projects where you’ve done voice work. Take voice training or acting classes to further hone your skills and learn techniques for breath control, articulation, and emotional expression. Network with producers, directors, and other voice talents in the industry to discover opportunities and receive feedback. Join voice talent platforms and marketplaces to gain exposure and book gigs.

The best advice I can give is practice! Start with reading the news. Practice different delivery styles. Practice impersonations. Work out those pronunciations. Speak clear and concise. But most importantly; just remember to work on a wide range of deliveries. Slow, fast, up, down, and so on. Having flex to your voicing capabilities will definitely help you in today's creative marketplace.

My experience has shown that understanding your audience deeply—from their preferences to their listening habits—is crucial. This insight helps tailor promotions that resonate.
