Configuration of firewall is very crucial when faced with security threats. It helps eliminate security threats. An example is: 1. AccessList implementation on a network (inbound and outbound). 2. the implementation of tunneling protocols like: GRE, IPsec, VPN etc. The above helps give access to only those network authorized to access your network.

Within the administrative controls, there should be policies data restoration and procedures on validating the data restoration process. Having a backup of the data is not helpful if it cannot be restored. Additionally, an incident might force a change in encryption keys. If the backup of the data is encrypted, there must be a policy/process to address the integrity and confidentiality of the existing backups.

Murphy’s law. There will be something you overlooked. A misconfiguration. Code with a syntax error. When you find it fix it. Expect errors after patches and keep a baseline image of the beautiful way things worked …the thing with no errors (or the devil you know) that works so you can roll back the clock to that instance, when patches are more trouble than they’re worth.
