An expert is only as good as their understanding of the context in which they're utilizing their expertise. Someone within the group must take the role of intimately understanding the context/desired outcome. How might you use your expertise ensure this keystone part of the process? Expertise can often contain a fair amount of ego, so within a group of experts, having someone to coordinate the individual and collective expertise and align it with the context/desired outcome helps to keep everyones focus on the relevant application of their expertise, not the 'rightness' of it.

Understanding the problem to the core is key. Getting to know the person and the environment they're in is also important. There a many factors to consider before jumping in with "expert" advice. (Even though I've been tempted in the past!) The same problem for a variety of people has different meanings and outcomes. Therefore, listen, ask many meaningful questions and also ask how they ideally, would like to see the conclusion. Then you can go in with all the expert guns blazing!

It is like a Dungeons and Dragons role-play. Everyone throws the dice to determine the initiatives who goes first and we all take turns to give our thoughts and perspective.

In a world where everyone has something to share, it is better to hear it from people who really has proven themselves worthy of my attention. To be the stupidest person in the room is both an honor and opportunity. Now take off your cape and get your pen and paper out. Be a student for life.

It is imperative to go the extra mile in discerning who all the contributors are and support the value that they bring. There is a saying: ' The brilliance is already in the room'. Therefor it would be imperative to firstly become aware of the existing value add. Once that was accomplished, the more salted and experienced contributors firstly are positioned to applaud the wins already established and then gracefully move in to add value. Again, like aluded before, he who speaks last, wins. It may even be a hybrid solution of what someone else has said or done, that combined with a reverse engineered response, the value add could be very helpful.
