Complexity in projects (particularly Automotive) are inevitable, it happens due to various valid reasons e.g. a product has many sub systems, new technology, changing customer requirements, missing platforms. Understanding the difference between process, methods and then deciding tools is important for effective project management. Analogy: Process : Steps to be covered for a project Method: Way in which the steps defined are followed (context specific) Tools : Should assist the method(it could be Agile, systems engineering etc...) and processes (it could be project management processes) Example: To manage the complexity in projects (SW and SYS) I will use an agile, CX methodology, and tools jira, miro bitbucket, Devops tools set.

To bring car design ideas to life on the computer, I would suggest special software called CAD. Autodesk Alias, Rhino, and CATIA are the ones I like. Autodesk Alias makes surfaces look really good, Rhino is flexible for making detailed 3D models, and CATIA has lots of features for both design and engineering in the car industry. In my experience, CAD journey started from graduation years with Creo Parametric and AutoCad. Then after couple of years, i brushed up CAD skills during industrial experience with the same softwares mentioned above. But, one thing i've found that CATIA, Solidworks, NX are widely used in automotive industry as per the product scope. Basically, one should learn any single software from scratch and do explore that, then go for the advanced and other option, instead of getting confused. Don't handle #1 & #2 and even a detailed MS Project Plan with resource allocation and CPM identified, will remain in the folder unused !!
