It is important that you reflect on failures, as well on success stories. From failures you can learn and improve, and success stories you can use for motivation going forward.

In today's world of production, there's often an expectation that video creators must do everything: Writing, directing, producing, shooting, editing, post. So much of the work I see today is mediocre at best. Self-reflection enables you to be honest with yourself regarding your strengths and weaknesses. Identify your specific strengths and build on those. Become great at what you do.

Self-reflection allows me to analyze my strengths and weaknesses, identify areas for improvement, and refine my skills and techniques to enhance my performance in future projects. The most important thing about self-reflection is brutal honesty with yourself.

Self reflection is crucial not only for personal growth but also for true accountability, especially if you're a freelancer. You must first be honest with yourself about your current strengths and weaknesses to become that go to person for others. I totally agree with the philosophy that it is always better to do a few things great than to do a lot of things mediocre. It may take a few times of doing a good job to get the recognition you want, but it can take just one bad instance to be branded with the dreaded "Do Not Hire Again". Film Responsibly! :)

I love reflecting on my projects, clients, collaborations, and crew dynamics. It helps me stay aligned with business goals. Making notes about how I felt at the end of the project helps me make decisions in the future about the type of work I should take, and if it's aligned with what I want my storytelling legacy to be. If values don't align, I'm out.

You can feel the genre of your next project, how you can create even greater videos, realise what the world needs now and what you can offer to fill that need with passion, vocation and excitement. You may even feel the need to research new ways to expand your expertise, upgrade your knowledge in a specific subject or techniques, learn from past mistakes and even discover new challenges or fears that needs to be faced so you can reach higher successes. Here are my practices in my video production work: 1. Keep track of every project you handle. (How long does this project took you to complete) 2. Set a monthly KPI for yourself. (How many videos I can produce in a month.) 3. Have a weekly or monthly discussion with your teammates or even with the digital marketing team to review the performance of the videos. (Knowing how many views, engagements and lead that gained from the video)

It will help in aligning your work with your values and long term plans and aspirations.

Two important thing about self-reflect on your video production are : 1- Improvement: Self-reflection helps you identify what worked well and what could be done better in your video projects. This feedback loop is crucial for continuous improvement. 2- Quality Control: By reflecting on your process and outcomes, you can ensure that your videos meet the desired standards of quality, aesthetics, and message delivery.

Self-reflection is key to analyze every step of your production work and leads you to ask yourself questions. It can be at the end of the process, or during it !

Editing and finalizing a video can range from being an isolated experience to being a collaborative one filled with many rounds of revision. Regardless of where a project falls in the spectrum, after a video is finished and published, it’s a good idea to come back to it after some time has passed. Watch it back with a more distant attitude. You will certainly notice good things and bad during this exercise. Make notes and apply your learning on the next one!

El perfeccionismo y la autocrítica. ?Conoces gente que no le guste escuchar su voz por audios? Crear no es más que lucir algo que también te hace vulnerable. La inseguridad no puede borrarse, y tampoco debería hacerlo. Somos imperfectos, pero lo bonito de eso es que esa imperfección se valora.

One of the biggest challenge is to keep boundaries. It's not easy for everyone to emotionally protect theirselves from work. It's long process to take what's good for your personal life and what's going too far from what you can handle. With experience and boundaries, you'll be able to protect yourself and to learn at the same time. All projects doesn't always teach you good lessons, but bad lessons are lessons too, you have to learn to take it that way.

There is a gentle balance between being encouraging and being critical of one’s own work. This is the greatest challenge of self reflection. However, harnessing this skill is an effective way to manage the balance as best as one can. Explore possibilities while being mindful of capabilities and the process becomes more efficient.

Perdón por lo que voy a decir pero no puedo evitarlo al menos desde mis 30 a?os de experiencia. De verdad estamos tratando esta profesión como un mundo "happy flower" en el que sacamos siempre algo bueno de todo, de fracasos y de triunfos. Si tienes que auto reflexionar mucho sobre tus fracasos para aprender seguramente ya estarás fuera de la profesión porque rara vez te dan varias oportunidades y si tienes triunfos normalmente los consigues con esfuerzo, trabajo y no parar de aprender. Que conste que me encanta mi trabajo y no lo cambiaría por nada pero lo principal es ser profesional y tener un buen bagaje de conocimientos, no perder el norte pensando que eres el mejor pero disfrutar y enorgullecerte de tus trabajos bien realizados.

In this way you will build a robust and highly beneficial 360 degree development process.

El mejor video es el que mas transmite, no el que mejor producción lleva. Equivocate. Busca una solución. Todo lo que merece la pena, te despeinará.

La reflexión a menudo bordea con el sobre pensar. Lo que muchas veces provoca procrastinación y nos hace contraproducentes. A veces mejor es hacer algo en vez de hacer perfecto y después hacer una reflexión realmente objetiva sobre los resultados.
