Climate change poses serious threats to the health, safety, and well-being of urban dwellers, especially the poor and vulnerable, who are more exposed to the risks of extreme weather events, sea level rise, heat waves, droughts, floods, and diseases. You have to plan for the mitigation and adaptation of climate change, by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing energy efficiency and renewable sources, promoting green and blue infrastructure, improving disaster preparedness and response, and fostering community resilience and social cohesion.

3 Technological innovation

A third challenge you face today as an urban planner is the rapid and disruptive innovation of technology in urban contexts.
