I prefer to join an online community or group, and actively participate in the discussions for a while, then select a few members who have similar interests and viewpoints as I do, and connect with them on LinkedIn and social media platforms. One of the ways I've found useful to expand my network and add value at the same time is to connect people in my network with one another. As long as there's value and win-win to connect two people. Do it often enough with the right intentions and with the right people, they'd be happy to do likewise. And that's how networks can expand and get more powerful over time.
