After losing both of his parents to cancer within 3 years, Robert Royall and his wife Leah Royall, MBA decided to design an event that could both honor their memory and raise money for cancer research.?Birdies & Brews is an annual charity golf tournament held in March that features local breweries around the course.?Participate as a golfer, sponsor (or both), or volunteer at this tournament with a goal to fund cancer research. All proceeds from the 2022 tournament will be donated to the Cancer Research Institute (CRI), an organization that continues to fund revolutionary breakthroughs to cure all types of cancer. This year's event will take place on Monday, March 21st, 2022 at the Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, NC. We hope to see you there! Humbled doesn’t even begin to describe how we feel every year as we watch a community come together to raise awareness for cancer research and support what was once a crazy idea that we thought was impossible. Every year, we watch our friends and family come from across the United States to support our tournament. We watch our friends take off work to volunteer their time. We see local breweries donate both incredible beer and their time to make this event possible. We become amazed by all of the local businesses that sponsor or donate. We hear stories of why people participate in the tournament and how it touched their lives. We see all of this and know that this tournament is meant to be. After raising $14,000 this year, we have raised a total of $50,000 in 3 years, and we aren’t done yet! With our gratitude, Rob & Leah
