First, I pay attention to the company's marketing plan, sales goals, and advertising plan. Based on sales and marketing priorities, I will choose the type of advertising. And in the future, I will nominate 2 or 3 sellers for each promotional activity and enter into negotiations with them. Finally, based on the quality of service and price offered by each vendor, I will select a vendor for each promotional program.

When negotiating on a tight budget, transparency is your best friend. Be upfront about constraints and ask what's achievable within those limits. It aligns expectations from the start. Remember: good, cheap, fast - pick two. If budget is fixed, where can you flex? Timelines? Revisions? Production quality? Agencies aren't vending machines; they're partners. Understand what they value: great clients, interesting projects, recognition. If you can't offer big budgets, bring awesome collaboration and creatively brave ideas to the table. Build relationships, not just transactions. Your openness and flexibility can lead to cost-effective collaborations that benefit everyone. It's about working smarter, not just cheaper.

Let me tell you what really works. First, I do my homework. Before I even talk money, I learn what these vendors usually charge and what others offer. Then I get creative - maybe I can trade some of our services for theirs? Or start small to prove we're worth a deal? Here's a trick: I ask about their slow seasons. Everyone has them. That's when you can often get better rates. Plus, I'm upfront about my budget but also about my long-term plans. A lot of vendors will work with you if they see potential for more business down the road.

The best way to deal with the negotiation bit is : First, understand what are the market rates and understand the pricing. Make sure you are completely aware of the pricing. Secondly, make sure to tell the vendor that they will be needed for the long term and that this deal is not a one-time thing. This makes them trust you and gets you better rates. Lastly, ask them if they are open to any trade of services or give them more business through referrals. This may get you a much better deal than before.
