First and foremost, how can the HR strategy best support the workplaces mission, vision, strategy, values and objectives. Then look at your data. Results from workplace surveys. Number of applications. What are candidates asking for in interviews. Employee turnover. Absenteeism. And more. What is going well and you want to preserve. What is going not so well and you need to improve. The look outside of your organization. Look at trends in the markets you operate. What is happening in the labor market. What is various research and report saying regarding what people are valuing most when it comes to work and what is supporting engagement.

Utilize analytics and metrics to make informed decisions. This includes tracking hiring metrics like time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, and quality-of-hire. Analyze this data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
