How do you approach inclusive design while maintaining product integrity?

When redesigning a product for inclusivity, I start by thoroughly understanding the needs of diverse user groups. I prioritise user research to identify specific barriers they face while using the product. By incorporating universal design principles, I ensure that the core functionality remains intact. Prototyping and testing with real users help refine the design, ensuring it’s both functional and accessible for everyone.

Redesigning for inclusivity while maintaining functionality requires a user-centered approach. Start by identifying diverse user needs through research and testing. Prioritize accessibility without compromising the product’s core purpose—this could mean adapting interfaces, simplifying interactions, or ensuring compatibility with assistive technologies. Collaborate with stakeholders to balance inclusive design principles with business goals.

Whenever I consider redesigning a current product more inclusively, my concern is how to achieve equal attention toward the usability and the primary aim of the product. -First of all, I get all kinds of users' want. -Then I introduce the principles of universal design so that the product can be used for all without compromising its intended usage. -Finally, even after the function has any additional features, extensive trials are performed to ensure that all the functions work perfectly in order. It does not help in improving any of the features of the product but rather provides a helpful way to position the product in a larger category without losing the first intention.
-
It's about expanding access while preserving what makes the product valuable, ensuring that inclusivity enhances the experience rather than complicating it. When redesigning a product for inclusivity, I ensure functionality and purpose by keeping the core user needs in front. I engage diverse users to understand their experiences and challenges, making sure the design works for everyone without sacrificing ease of use or the product's main goals.

When redesigning an existing product, it’s crucial to preserve the core functionality and maintain the familiar workflow for existing users. This approach helps retain current customers and allows them to adapt to the new design more easily. Incorporating universal design principles ensures the product remains accessible to a wider audience. Additionally, gathering regular feedback from customers and users will help fine-tune the product, enabling a seamless transition and continuous improvement.
