Having a degree in Supply Chain Management (SCM) will be the very best place to start. This will propel one’s career to the next level. So. My advice will be to register as quickly as possible with ASCM and becoming a member of the body and getting certified. Another will be to add to ones portfolio an MBA degree which will provide one with some good strategic thinking skills, leadership skills, and network building.
