In my experience, setting up a recurring weekly or biweekly call is key to keeping both the client and my team focused on moving the project forward without overwhelming them. Additionally, sending an organized summary prior to each call helps ensure that all actions and updates are clear and easier to follow, especially when multiple stakeholders are involved. This approach balances staying informed and not overloading clients with constant updates.

To keep clients updated without overwhelming them, establish a regular update schedule—such as weekly or biweekly—where you provide concise summaries of progress, milestones achieved, and any upcoming steps. Use a consistent format, such as bullet points, to make it easy to read and focus on key takeaways rather than excessive details. Offering a shared project dashboard or tracking tool can allow clients to check in on progress whenever they need without waiting for updates. Finally, clarify with clients how often they’d like to be updated, adjusting as necessary to strike a balance that keeps them informed and engaged without overloading them.

Based on my experience, active communication is important to keep everybody on the loop. I have used project management tool, like Asana; that’s a good way of keeping up with the project progress. After you get the client’s feedback, you can decide the best approach and adjust the communication style and timing.
