Iteration is learning and learning is life (survival/performance or however you want to look at it) for any individual/organisation/programme. HOWEVER, you must know WHY you are iterating and not just go through the motions. Nothing is less effective than navel-gazing. Genuine iteration, for me anyway, includes considering everything; no aspect is beyond critique, be it process, skills, equipment or concepts. But most importantly, make sure assumptions, status, and communications are current and effective before committing to a substantial review.
