Here are two strategies I use to overcome procrastination and tackle high-priority tasks: 1. Use "Pre-Game" Rituals Creating a pre-work ritual can be a fun way to signal to your brain that it’s time to focus. This could be as simple as brewing a cup of coffee or doing a quick 5-minute workout. These rituals help make a smooth mental transition from procrastination to productivity. By consistently enjoying these moments, you can train your mind to connect them with focused work time. 2. Implement "Stop Doing" Lists Identify activities that aren't essential to your task or that tend to distract you, and consciously avoid them during your work sessions. By letting go of these distractions, you can keep your focus and still make progress!

We’ve all been there, staring at that looming task that just keeps getting pushed off. Here’s what works for me: Break It Down: That big task can feel overwhelming, so break it into smaller steps. Write out a checklist. Each time I cross off a small piece, I get a little momentum to keep going. Time Block: Set a timer for 20-30 minutes, focusing only on that task. No distractions, just a concentrated effort. Once that timer goes off, I often realize I’ve gotten more done than expected, and it's easier to keep going. Reward Yourself: It might sound simple, but knowing I can take a break or enjoy something small afterward can be a great motivator to get the ball rolling.

La procrastinación puede ser un problema frecuente si no estamos bien organizados, y estamos abrumados por el que hacer. Una forma de evitar esto, es usar una agenda como mandataria. La agenda se debe convertir en nuestra guía, para de esta manera no tener que pensar en que hacer, sino que solo ejecutamos lo que nos manda la agenda. Para lograr este cometido, debemos dedicarle tiempos muy importantes a la planificación estratégica de la agenda todos los días, ya que el manejo de agenda es dinámico. El segundo paso es llevar un manejo de agenda cuidadoso y preciso. Por último obligarnos como habito a cumplir con lo que tenemos agendado. Este paso a paso, es una herramienta contundente en contra de la procrastinación.

Separate planning from execution, and just think about the steps that go into the task. What's the first step? And the next? Etc. When you have a list of all the steps that need to completed, look back at the first step. What's the first step to the first step? Is there a way to break that down so it's so easy to do it's almost too ridiculous to avoid? For example, when people have a hard time going to the gym for half an hour, they're often advised to just get on the treadmill for ten minutes. Once you're on the treadmill for ten minutes, it's pretty easy to stay on it for your workout. But if even ten minutes feels like a step too big, make the first step just getting to the gym. Nothing more. Just get to the gym.

Overwhelmed with grading numerous essays, I employed the "eating the frog" method to prioritize and manage my time effectively. Although it required some personal time, I provided valuable feedback for all final drafts. This experience emphasized the significance of time management and strategic prioritization in handling high-pressure situations, ultimately contributing to my growth as an educator. My advice is to tackle challenging tasks head-on, prioritize based on urgency and impact, and allocate additional time when necessary.
