If you're waiting to feel confident until you act, you're gonna be waiting a LONG time. There is no such thing. Make a small move, a small change, a small improvement —?by doing so, you minimize risk and the impact of your decision being the wrong call. Work small. Implement, test, tweak, implement, test, tweak, etc. A series of small bets with reasonable risk allows you to quickly learn what works and what doesn't. I don't believe there is any other way, to be honest. Take the shot and do so in a way where you're in position to learn and respond quickly if it's the wrong call.

UX designers who embrace a growth mentality, who don't let the fear of - "what if I made the wrong decision" paralyze them from taking action - will experience stronger growth and learning opportunities than those who don't. FYI - you will make a wrong decision at some point in your career. You're human, and we've all done it at some point and will probably do it again. It is part of being human. If the decision feels too big, break it into smaller chunks. So figure out what's the next small step to help you achieve your goals. Then go do it. Taking small steps consistently is how you grow your confidence muscle. Test and learn. Embrace the process. Cultivate humility. Practice self-compassion when needed. You've got this.
