While cycle counting can correct those mistakes, you need to make sure you have the proper tools to maintain the inventory. Cycle counting itself is meant to be a way to measure you ability to manage your inventory and your company will scorecard you against those variances. This can also cause tunnel vision and have teams focusing too much on reactive processes rather than the proactive processes.
