You’re struggling to get your team on board with a new initiative. How can you turn the tide?

In my experience : 1. Explain the WHY , the purpose of the new initiative to everyone 2. Get the Senior Management aligned and not leave it as a Board discussion . Walk the Talk 3.Galvanize the teams with enthusiasm and engagement , not as a tick mark but truly with trust . 4. Create a strategic impactful sustainable program with every one getting focus , customer , employee , community and shareholder .

Comunicación clara: Asegúrese de comunicar de manera clara y concisa los objetivos y beneficios de la nueva iniciativa. Destaque cómo esto contribuirá al éxito del equipo y de la organización en general. Involucramiento del equipo: Anime a su equipo a participar activamente en el proceso. Escuche sus ideas, preocupaciones y sugerencias. Esto les hará sentirse valorados y aumentará su compromiso con la iniciativa. Proporcione recursos y apoyo: Asegúrese de que su equipo tenga los recursos necesarios para implementar la nueva iniciativa con éxito. Proporcione capacitación, orientación y apoyo continuo a lo largo del proceso.

Primero; si tiene que luchar ya inició mal, le sugiero que busque de que forma INSPIRAR al equipo, a identificar en ellos la manera de PERTENECER a algo que tiene impacto y potencial de generar reultados positivos. Segundo; que es lo significativo que tiene esta nueva iniciativa, que se logra cuando se alcanza, busque algo más grande que el acto que se desea realizar, enfoque en el BENEFICIO y no en el problema. Tercero; haga a las personas parte del movimiento, hágale saber lo importante de su aporte y su rol dentro del engranaje del proyecto.

Una buena estrategia, sería mostrarles que la nueva iniciativa, se encuentra alineada con sus propios objetivos profesionales (identificación con la iniciativa). La resistencia al cambio puede vencerse con un buen plan de comunicación, informándo en todo momento de los cambios que lleva asociada cada una de las etapas. Esto proporciona seguridad y confianza. Deben mostrarse los avances obtenidos a lo largo de todo el proceso para lograr aumentar la motivación y el rendimiento. En definitiva, me centraria en los siguientes aspectos: 1. Identificación e integración. 2. Comunicación constante. 3. Motivación a partir de los resultados.

Ante toda iniciativa de cambio lo que ha funcionado es lo siguiente: 1.- Defina claramente cuál será el objetivo del cambio 2.- Establece una estrategia basada en las personas o la coyuntura que se maneja( va desde tomar un café con alguien o conversar acerca de sus preferencias 3.- Establece normas de convivencia claras, pros y contras 4.- Busca el compromiso de todo el equipo. Es importante ser conscientes que ante cualquier cambio siempre existe una resistencia y es normal, lo ideal es abrazar ese cambio y ser estratégicos.

Understanding your team's resistance enables targeted responses. Address concerns empathetically, backed by evidence. If value is doubted, align the initiative with mission and show problem-solving potential. Address fears of risks or costs by highlighting mitigation strategies and rewards. Armonizar los intereses es clave, para ello, el líder debe asegurarse que la calidad del vínculo está en un buen momento y tomar iniciativa en conversar, escuchar y comprender los valores en juego, los temores y expectativas que los miembros del equipo pueden tener frente al cambio La empatía que supone suspender el juicio, permitirá desbloquear la inmovilidad y dar espacio a la transición que cada miembro del equipo debe realizar

As a leader, until you can't able to take all your team members togather, it is useless to go further. When you successfully able to generate the curiosity about that new change, they will start talking about it, exploring about it, speculating about it, and start asking questions about it. And that creates one environment, and your role as a leader is to monitor that. That is a positive environment about that change, not a negative one.? So automatically they will showcase their concerns and you get a chance to help them all gradually to address it.? The goal is not to surprise them at all; otherwise,? it will be lengthy to implement.

Es definitivo. Escuchar con mucha apertura y sin respuesta preparada. Mi argumento se va a reforzar una vez conozca todas sus reservas. Pero lo verdaderamente interesante sería que conversemos de tal manera que hasta mi opinión podría cambiarse. Conforme con mi anterior comentario, la resistencia no se da por sí misma. Se da por algo que no se entiende o sobre lo cual n pudo haber participación. Mi desafío como líder es involucrarlos y contar con sus opiniones.

Cuando das a cada miembro de tu equipo el valor de su trabajo y de sus aportes, estás abriendo un canal de participación inmenso, a todos nos gusta que se nos escuche y se nos reconozcan nuestros aportes, como líder debes canalizar las diferentes opiniones y resaltarlas en los resultados del proceso de cambio. A veces es necesario escuchar individualmente a cada miembro para conocer realmente las causas de su preocupación.

I will first do my homework of stakeholders impact analysis, influencers and detractors from within my team. Subsequently I will run thru the following with the team seek their inputs for smooth onboarding of the team - Program charter, Business case with benefits - Change impact analysis and change Management plan - Communication plan - involve them with responsibilities in executing the initiative. Give them the flexibility or options to build on their natural abilities - Start celebrating small success early on to motivate and instill pride and confidence

Some ways to get started: - One thing I'found helpful is establishing an emotional connection with the cause or project. Identifying and elaborating on that emotional spark is key to create emotional engagement. - Actually, I disagree with a fundamentally rational-driven approach. Cognitive understanding, such as grasping a pile of numbers and facts may prevent a team from rejecting an initiative but has a limited effect on igniting the true spirit of collaboration. - An example I've seen is any time a good story is used to introduce an initiative. A relevant story creates empathy, helps the team put in someone else's shoes and makes it personal. Next time you get a chance, try it, tell an inspiring story, make it personal!

Team is all about working together to achieve one single task at a time. And as a leader, when you make them involved in the process of that task, it will produce a seamless result. Therefore, involvement helps one to evolve, and when one evolves, they accommodate / adopt that change easily. Isn't it a smart way!!

Lead by Example Demonstrate Commitment: Lead by example and demonstrate your own commitment, enthusiasm, and dedication to the success of the initiative. Your passion and conviction can inspire and motivate your team. Show Vulnerability: Be transparent about your own challenges, uncertainties, and learning process related to the initiative to build trust and rapport with your team.

Case studies and role plays play a crucial part here as this gives them an experientual learning. Factual case studies' presentations give them an opportunity to look into real life scenarios and hence learnings.
