1 Know your boss

Analyze and identify his preferred communication style (see DISC profiles or PCM - Process Communication Model basic needs for example), his professional objectives, and personal needs and adapt your communication and interaction in all your working processes as much as possible ( without "losing" yourself and your personal principles in this process). Just find THAT thin line that is a win-win situation. Also just sharing with him that you aim to find a (better) way to communicate and interact may improve significantly the relationship and the way he relates with you.

2 Plan your message

Before you talk to your boss, make sure you have a clear and concise message to deliver. Think about what you want to say, why you want to say it, and how you want to say it. Write down the main points and supporting details, and organize them in a logical order. Use simple and direct language, and avoid jargon, slang, or acronyms that your boss may not understand.
