Take in consideration that your boss might not understand "marketing slang" or he is completely unaware of how social media or paid advertisement works. Keep in mind anytime you say o propose something that he might be under the impression that he knows best because he runs or not the company but he documented himself on YouTube on how to make profit from advertisement in 'just 5 days'
