As a young professional, I have struggle with finding my footing in the job market. From trying different career fields, volunteering, and employment, I had to identify my passions to find my brand. During this time, I recogize the importance of who you are as a person but also as a professional ...Your Brand. I no longer submitting applications to jobs I know I can get because they are "easy" and I not passionate about. My brand does not allow that. I encourage you to develop your brand(your image) and go to those industries or sectors that have the same branding qualities that you have. This in return help you market yourself better.

One of the top things I have learn as I navigate the job market is the value of research and informative interviews. Whether you are just interest in a position/field or you are fully committed in being in that role, you must know the who, what, why of the position, company and potential employers/bosses. If I had knew the importance of researching the past non growth positions I held, I would have considered the reasons behind their high-turnover rates, and personnel satisfactions. So, don't be the younger me, utilizes platforms like LinkedIn and social networking events to meet your potential associates.

I have made a LinkedIn post, stating that I will no longer be humble in interviews or withhold valued information that will get me to a higher salary or better benefits! I mean every word! If you are operating as a Brand you will know what you are worth and the quality you bring to the organization(customer)! Think of it as a business transaction, you will not dilute your product for someone who can't offer your product so why sure you at a job interview. Be bold and confident in your BRAND.

A previous LinkedIn post stated " If you are not learning, you are not growing. If you not growing you need to get going" In this day in age, we need to continue to be a learner and evolve with the times of our industries. One thing, I value is being able to learn or be part of organization that provides mentorship, courses, webinar or basic access to information to be more of an assess to my job and the organization. Identifying the learning/growth opportunities will equipped you to break that glass ceiling.
