While i was preparing for competitive exams, i learned some techniques which are actually useful in other aspects of life too! While I’m doing some important project To avoid phones and distractions i will ~ Put the notifications off ~ Or Place the mobile phone in some other room ~ I’ll dedicate some time slot for mobile phone during my work hours ~ During that slot, i’ll come back to my phone and will do the calling and replying to emails part first. ~ If that’s even not possible, i’ll probably switch the internet off and put my phone exactly in front of me but at some distance so that if any call comes, it will be visible to me, but not in very close proximity to recieve it on that very time.

I strongly believe that the key to getting things done comes with a strong intention to actually want to get things done. So intention matters. To this extent, mindfulness can help if one pays attention to their intention (of the task ahead), and at the same time, cultivates helpful attitudes whenever the mind wanders. I use the Todoist app, and focus exclusively on one task at at time, which helps me to maintain my focus.

things that I use myself; - Write critical tasks every night for next day - always Stick in in front of you where you can see it while working - For email, make it like a break routine you check it every 50 mins and then take a break from focused work to respond - Always know and understand what is important.

A few steps I did take are: 1. Acknowledge the Urge: Understand why you’re reaching for your phone or checking emails. Schedule specific times for these tasks to reduce the pull. 2. Set Clear Intentions and prioritize To-Do's: Define your goal - when your “why” is strong, distractions lose their power. Be clear of the priorities. 3. Time-Box Your Focus: Work in timed intervals and adjust as needed. Eg: Every hour, 50mins of focus work followed by 10mins of phone/ email responding. 4. Eliminate Interruptions: Use Do Not Disturb and communicate your focus needs to those around you. 5. Keep It Out of Sight: Place your phone in another room and close email apps during focus time. Mindful adjustments turn distractions into clarity.

A useful and easy way to get focused and stay that way for a set period of time is by using brainwave music. Use Headphones and listen to gamma brainwave music with binaural beats. This entrains your own brainwaves to the frequency of the music. Gamma is the frequency that enables focused attention. Boom… you won’t even be aware of your notifications.
