To up your data storytelling game, check out your old projects like they’re hidden treasure maps. H ere’s the treasure hunt guide: 1. Replay the Hits: Look at past presentations that got applause and figure out what made them sparkle. Was it a cool analogy or a killer visual? Steal those tricks! 2. Read the Reviews: Dig into feedback like it's a mystery novel. Find out where people got lost or confused, and fix those plot holes for your next story. 3. Repurpose the Magic: Reuse those fantastic visuals or clever analogies that made your data pop before. It’s like bringing back your favorite old jokes—if they were good then, they’ll be good now!

Data Storytelling is an art as well as a science. It is a visual (sometimes even non-visual) means to convey a context and details surrounding the narrative. The best data storytelling -and check it out- is Nepoleon's March across Europe. Now, this art has attributes of simplicity, effectiveness, right context, color schemes and most importantly the why? In my experience with data storytelling- there is always a central theme around the customer or the user. Does it solve their problem? Take another example of Picasso Guernica. This massive painting at the Reina Sofia, Madrid portrays the horrors of war in just a grayscale B&W. Can we take some inspirations from art, other projects and from other disciplines- yes!
