This is the single biggest point ie to set goals and KPIs to track on daily and weekly basis. It is critical to set right KPIs to track and work on its improvement. Most of us dont track required KPIs and fail to grow as they are not aware of leavers to focus and how to focus in absence of right KPIs.

Google provide 99% accurate tracking and have 100% technically updated features, fully compliant by the privacy policy of the any country across globe. Previously GA (UA) was used but now we have to migrate to GA4 and by July all the data from GA ( UA will be deleted). GA has no alternative, setting up and integrating GA is mandatory step. Though, here I’ve a point to make - GA is complex and requires expert to manage and read data in it. Either you can get basic course for GA or higher expert. If you want extremely easy interface, use Triple whales, Hyros etc as well

Heatmaps are useful… ONLY IF THEY TRACK REVENUE. Clicks don’t pay the bills, revenue does. So, why optimize for clicks? They don’t really help and you don’t know the “right clicks” vs the bad ones. Post-purchase surveys and on-site surveys are nice… but the goldmine is customer feedback surveys to your email list!!! There are two groups of people: purchasers and non-purchasers. To make it 100% free, use a Google Form. I use them for 9-figure Ecom brands. Ask your purchasers what made them purchase, what they love about the product. This gives you how to write copy on your website. Ask non-purchasers why they didn’t buy. These are the pain-points to address in your copywriting. Offer a discount or cash reward for those who fill it out! Biggest goldmine in all of CRO.

BE CAREFUL WITH BENCHMARKS!!!! Someone selling supplements will have a lower AOV than a furniture company selling $2,000 sofas. It doesn’t mean the AOV of the supplement brand is “bad”. This is why I typically HATE benchmarks. Only benchmarks I use are % change benchmarks, so it’s apples to apples of how everyone vs you are doing. I use Looker in Google to make killer dashboards, plus they’re 100% free. Also to the GA4 haters, it’s not bad!! It takes 4-5 hours to configure the account which stinks, but otherwise it’s a stellar software to use. Just remember they use a user-based model, not sessions! A lot of marketers think they’re “missing sessions” but they’re not… they’re not measuring sessions like Shopify or Woocommerce are.
