Leading by example has been the most influential way to involve others in the sustainability journey. You need to get senior stakeholders on board with the journey. If you do this you will get the resources you need (in terms of budget, visibility, senior support etc) to get what you need to get done. How do you get these senior stakeholders on board? You need to align your sustainability strategy / plan and what you are trying to accomplish with business metrics that matter for the senior audience. These could be cost savings (FD), employee retention (HR) or workplace compliance (CCO). Then you will get the support you need at a senior level to engage all employees.
