No one will ‘buy’ advice from a jittery consultant. Your mindset is yours, if you can’t see yourself doing the job it is unlikely that anyone else can.

Continuous learning encourages cross-functional knowledge sharing and the exchange of best practices.

Unless you are forced onto the market the sequence is wrong. 5 comes after 1 (the gap analysis of your transferable skills) and then must become a lifelong habit. E.g. If you haven’t used consultancy, client management and soft skills in your current role then you need to learn and ideally find a way of building practical experience. You also need to build the breadth and depth of your strategic technology / practice insights so you have something relevant to say and do at interview/assessment.
