I like to think of Ikigai framework here above all else. It's a Japanese methodology to think about your life's purpose and reason for being. It also helped me quite a bit when thinking through how to build my consulting firm. Here's the principles: think about what you love doing, what you're good at, what you ca be paid for and what the world needs. From there, you can start to hone in on the vision for your consulting business, what areas of focus you want to double down on, and how to build effective messaging around your offering that's compelling to the world around you! This is one of the most fun parts in building your consulting business: thinking about the contributions you are going to make on behalf of people & planet!

Investing in yourself: couldn't agree with this one more. It's something that I didn't learn until much later in life. But when you start investing in the business that you've created, the clients that you want to work with and the team that you're forming—it will go a long way. Identify where you are going to get the most value and double down on it. If that's building out your social presence or working with a PR firm or bringing on an admin to take work off your plate, that's all investing in yourself. You can also go one step further and figure out where you'd like to further educate yourself and where you have some weak spots. Tapping into more educational opportunities is never a bad thing!
