Set clear expectations Define roles, responsibilities, and goals to ensure everyone's aligned. Create a shared vision and document processes. Regular check-ins Schedule consistent meetings (daily/weekly) for: - Progress updates - Open discussions - Addressing concerns Encourage social interaction Organize virtual team-building activities: - Virtual happy hours - Group lunches - Celebrate milestones and birthdays Additional strategies: - Foster open communication (slack/channels) - Recognize and reward contributions - Emphasize work-life balance - Conduct regular feedback sessions By implementing these strategies, you'll build a cohesive, trusting remote team that thrives.

Since this is a remote team, connecting with each team member on a personal level will add value and helps in establishing trust and rapport. Alongside, having regular stand-up meetings, listening to people with empathy, brainstorming on problem solving with them, doing some fun activities are some of the ways to establish rapport with new members.

Firstly, a face to face gathering is essential.. No.1 factor for people to work together is like-ability (humanity) whilst knowing each other will foster collaboration (professionalism) In this sense, building rapport between each team member and the head is substantial and capitalizing upon that is a life long investment No.2 creating a cadence of communication and discipline No.3 validating and reinforcing the trust model via focusing on results and taking corrective measures to the cadence or even to the approach The face 2 face meeting every quarter would help, yet a weekly meeting for the team online is crucial ..

Although it can be difficult, building a cohesive and trustworthy remote team is crucial for success. Here's how to build rapport and trust: Establish precise expectations: To ensure agreement, clearly define roles, responsibilities, and objectives. You can use frequent check-ins: Set up regular meetings to keep lines of communication open and quickly resolve any issues. Promote social contact: Plan online team-building exercises to promote community. How have you helped your remote team members develop trust?

I'd encourage an early face 2 face - ideally over a couple of days to remove time constraints. Be open and honest about as much as possible using online chat functions to communicate such a Teams/Google Chat/Slack etc. Regular 121s and team checkins. Allow time at start of agendas for connection rather than heading straight into the content. Regular feedback opportunities off calls. Remember birthdays, anniversaries, children milestones - personal elements of peoples lives which are less likely to feature as not sat side by side. The small things let team members know you care.
