You’re starting a new public relations role. What are the first steps to success?

If you're new to a public relations role, spend the first 30-60 days getting a thorough understanding of your company's vision, mission, and values. If one isn't in place already, build the framework for a strategic PR plan that aligns with business objectives and proactively manage the company's reputation. Then, work to establish relationships with key media contacts and stakeholders within your industry.

The First Thing to know is what are your limits, where you can push yourself for more and where to follow the already-designed limits. what is your organizational capacity? and what goals are already set by the organization you are representing? and than measure what perception you have in your audience, and what you want you to be in there perception. the next step is to identify your long term, Mid term and short term goals on based of above taken steps.
