Here's how: - Comprehensive risk assessment: Conduct pre-event risk assessments for weather-related hazards like heatwaves, storms, or cold fronts - Emergency response plans: Develop a detailed emergency action plan that includes evacuation routes, shelter areas, and communication strategies - Real-time weather monitoring: Utilize advanced weather monitoring systems to track real-time data and make informed decisions - Athlete specific measures: Implement cooling or heating stations for athletes, and ensure medical teams are available for quick intervention in case of heatstroke, dehydration, or hypothermia - Spectator safety measures: Provide shaded areas, hydration stations, or heated shelters depending on weather conditions

Always analyse the situation in reference to forecasts and cooperate with the authorities. A good example would be a breakdown in the weather and expected wind. If your sports venue has elements that could be a danger to staff, spectators and athletes the organiser with the authorities has to analyse and decide if the expected wind can break down advertising or other elements. If you can dismantle them and proceed then this is probably a good solution (we had such a match during EURO in Düsseldorf, many branding and national flags were removed from the roof of the stadium). On the other hand, with weather forecasts ruling out the safety of people - you could consider moving the competition to another day or cancelling. Safety comes first!
