I have personally experienced the effects of having bad data when training a model. I was developing an Image classification model where the goal was to make the model differentiate defective items on a production line. When I started to train the model I did not know the endangers of a bad dataset ( novice me!) and fed images to train a VGG-Net-16 model to perform this task. I couldn't identify the reason properly then & tried different batching techniques, optimizers etc. In the end I figured to increase the quality of the dataset (resolution & no. of images) which drastically improved the performance.
