You're a project manager with a team that's struggling to stay on track. How can you help them succeed?

Accept the problem and reasons causing it. Bring all stakeholders together to retrospect on the reasons. There are always many reasons affecting project and brainstorming is key. Identify and define reasons for delays, next steps and action plan with clear ownership and timeline. Integration project manager should drive inter team co-ordination, dependency/conflict resolver and should drive integrated project plan. He can callout issues/risks in advance with a mitigation plan. An effective team bonding, a healthy, open and trustworthy environment which encourage and motivates individuals and teams. An effective communication medium/process for requirement gathering, track progress and inform relevant people.

Obtener una perspectiva general, desde un punto de vista objetivo, es muy importante a la hora de realizar cualquier tipo de acción. Para mejorar los resultados y el crecimiento, hemos de centrarnos en: -Medidas para el cambio. De acción o corrección y dónde realizarlas. -Mercado a ampliar o reforzar al que dirigirnos. -Acciones a implementar. -Plan de acción y seguimiento.

One thing that needs to be done during such situations like: -1st: Understand the causes of struggle -2nd: Discuss on everyone's problem -3rd: Give them proper suggestions 4th: Fill the Gap of communication & understanding 5th: Align the team on the same page by motivating them in a proper manner 6th: Discuss Mutually on goal 7th: Guide them Properly 8th: Observe everyone's contributions and help them whenever they require 9th: Regular scrum meeting to be conducted to track the records and then w finally by the contribution of whole team we can succeed.

We can help in the following way to the team struggling to stay on track: 1. First call all the stakeholders, and listen them completely for knowing the reasons of not staying on track. 2. Then ask them the probable solutions, it can be multiple. 3. Check if the tasks are not over burden to the team and whether Prioritization is in place, if not then immediately act and prioritize , so that load can be reduced and hence productivity is improved. 4. Analyse the probable solutions, Brainstorm with leadership team and then chalk out the plan to resolve the problems.

Break the project in different parts and chase small wins FIRST for everyone and everyday. This will help see thru more clearly on road blocks and help find solutions / alternatives.

Prioritizing tasks based on urgency and importance ensures that critical issues are addressed promptly. Assigning roles and responsibilities clarifies accountability and promotes efficient task execution. Setting clear deadlines and milestones keeps the team focused and on track towards achieving goals. Additionally, communicating expectations and goals transparently fosters alignment and commitment among team members. Considering resources, budget, and risks allows for effective resource allocation and risk mitigation strategies.

Plan in better ways to consider right resources, budget and risk involved. Gather R&R , set major milestones and deadlines to define team goals effectively.

Identify communication gaps. Implement a proper review mechanism Utilize CI/CD Evaluate environment availability Take steps to upskill wherever needed Sets goals for people and evaluate periodically.

En mi caso, ha servido planificar minuciosamente cada uno de los pasos que siguen. Es importante tener en cuenta esto pues con ello pondremos énfasis en actividades que tengan una ruta crítica y sabremos tener cuidado y bien observadas cada una de las actividades para su correcta aplicación, así como evitar olvidar algo importante.

A perfect plan make a team successful , so don’t make any plan alone. When a team make a plan together, they will be successful definitely. And this is true .

Providing guidance, support, and feedback to your team members as they execute tasks is essential for maintaining momentum and overcoming challenges. Regular communication with stakeholders and clients keeps them informed of progress and outcomes, fostering transparency and trust. Utilizing tools like dashboards, reports, or meetings facilitates tracking and sharing information effectively.

When designing the plan, an effort should be made to provide steps which are easy to reach at the start, to bring confidence to the team members and for the team to realise it can work better a whole. The manager should observe the team dynamics while offering support, putting themselves more in a coaching role for some team members. This will ask more time from the manager, but the aim is to get each team member more confident in their new role and eventually able to to their tasks independently.

Celebrating even small successes brings a lot to team members, and get them ready for more difficult times. Showing support and signs of appreciation can keep the team going the extra mile.

Probablemente pensemos en los problemas informáticos a mejorar que nos surgen día a día, aunque basta con un cambio de perspectiva para realizar cambios sustanciales en los procesos. Para ello hay que centrarnos en los puntos que resulten menos técnicos. Ej.: establecer unas guías ágiles para la comunicación entre departamentos, que solventen problemas de forma más directa generando menos tiempo de trabajo, o establecer respuestas automáticas a problemas o peticiones similares del cliente.

Como punto a a?adir, a mí me resulta muy útil la buena comunicación entre todos los sectores y departamentos de mi trabajo, así como con los compa?eros. Genera más agilidad de respuesta, mejor ambiente en el trabajo, y ayuda a realizar un desempe?o correcto y a seleccionar conjuntamente qué excepciones debemos realizar a las reglas de nuestro trabajo para seguir manteniendo el resultado.

To the comments below, I would add the celebration bit: even for a small success / rectification, the team should be acknowledged for the good work. We often forget about it since we may be obsessed by our ultimate goals, but this is the fuel that gets the engine working in my experience. We are all humans!
