Unpopular opinion: it does NOT matter which MIDI controller you use to produce music. You can make beat stems with your mouth and household appliances, record & mix them on a phone app, and distribute it at a minimal cost. It's not about the tool, it's about YOU - the artist, the servant of the craft, willing to devote the hours and hours learning, growing, and blessing us with your creations. Choose whatever you can afford. Whatever will give you that extra "oompf" AFTER you've already committed to the lifelong process that is, being an artist. People are making hit records with dirt cheap MIDIs, phones/tablets, "outdated" relics of the past. It does not matter. It is not the tool that makes the art. It's the artist. Never forget that.
