It's tough balancing creativity and practicality. But when faced with this challenge, I lean into become a cheerleader. Either for myself or the editor I am working with. When we are happy and calm, we can create. So instead of putting the pressure on, focus on elevating the feelings that allow you to create your best work. From there, focus on building the basics, and allow the extras to fall away. What is the minimum requirement for the viewer to receive the message effectively? Lastly, take some time and learn to edit with text. It's a true time-saver, and can allow us to focus more on the creative portions of our work, and skip the tedious portions quickly.

I think in any production process, creativity must be at the top of it all...it’s the essence of the message we're showing. Creativity and innovation are what truly drive this industry forward. Over the years, I've learned that sharing words of encouragement with the team can significantly alleviate stress, allowing them to focus on their talents and contributions. If you know me, you know that for me It's all about collaboration and supporting one another. Also, I always look for cost-effective solutions. So balancing creativity with practicality is key, and I believe that by encouraging creative thinking, we can deal with the most time-pressed editing sessions while still producing exceptional work.

An effective approach is utilizing templates and presets that can save you valuable time. Many video editing software platforms offer a variety of customizable templates that you can adapt to suits your project’s needs. By using these tools, you can maintain a level of creativity while efficiently editing your footage. It might seem counterintuitive, but taking short breaks can significantly boost your creativity. Stepping away from your screen, even briefly, allows your mind to recharge and wander, which can lead to fresh ideas.
