In my experience, in the West, we focus on the externally visible body language and observable mannerisms. In the East, we focus on the inner reality which is invisible and yet powerfully influencing our body language and non verbal signals we emit. From the books of the Indian mystic, Osho, I found a few questions to ask myself before speaking to a global audience: 1. Am I standing on the same side of the fence with the audience or am I approaching them as if I am on the opposite side of the fence? 2. Am I communicating through the western logic of analytical rationality or the universal language of love? 3. Am I blinded by the illusion of my own ego thinking of myself as superior to my audience or do I recognize that I am their servant?

There is a saying that people won't truly remember what you said but will remember how you made them feel. So setting an intention to add value to the audience goes a long way. The non verbal cues of smiles, laughter and the energy you exude speaks VOLUMES. People can sense energy & even though they may not understand exactly what you said - when you set an intention to connect to every single person from your heart space -they can "read your energy

? Understand your content. Even if your body language is excellent and the content is shallow, the presentation will be bad. ? Research shows that in the viral Tedx Talks, the speakers used their hand gestures at least 456 times in 18 minutes ? If we go by the red circle rule, minimize your stage movement by avoiding moving from one corner to another ? Understanding your audience demographics, such as age, culture, and lifestyle, can help you develop a list of what to do and not to do. ? Research more about your audience. Ask the organizers to give you tips for the group you are presenting to.
