Look for data sets that others in your organization may not even know exist. Many tools are very underutilized, and sometimes, valuable data can be found sitting unused. For instance my colleague had been plugging all of his contacts into Google Contacts for years. Then, when I convinced him to start utilizing a formal database, there were so many data points he didn't even realize were there.
