While the UI/UX of e-learning is improving, sometimes you are forced to work with legacy platforms that aren’t great which makes this even more difficult. That said, you can do several things to overcome tech training challenges. 1) Identify the specific parts of the training that feel overwhelming to you and why 2) analyze if it’s the UI/UX or is it phrasing or even the vocabulary 3) Tackle one at a time: Example: if it’s vocabulary, look up the terms and leverage ai to give you a variety of examples so that you can fully understand them and how they might relate to the concept. It doesn’t take much time and can quickly get you back on track

During the training, I will write down specific ways I can use what I learn in my current projects. For instance, if I learn about a new tool, I’ll think about how it could improve my team’s workflow. This approach will help me see the relevance of the training and make it easier to remember what I’ve learned.

Feeling overwhelmed during a tech-focused training session can be challenging, but with the right approach, you can adapt and gain value from it. Start by focusing on the core concepts rather than getting caught up in the details. Pause and review sections that are unclear, using extra resources if needed. Don’t hesitate to ask questions or seek help from peers or instructors. Break the content into manageable chunks to avoid burnout and take short breaks to reset. Most importantly, give yourself time to absorb the material and remember that mastering new skills takes practice.
