My hack is simple. Ditch any content that doesn’t relate to your goal. Period. The focus should be on meeting the hiring company’s pain points. In other words, what’s important to you doesn’t matter. (Sorry? Not sorry?) It what is important that DOES.

Clean resumes are so much easier for people to read! (For ATS systems, it's not as big of a deal.) To keep it clean: ? Use bullets sparingly—only for accomplishments. ? Start your margins at .75" and don't go less than .5". ? Use full spaces in between positions. ? Keep body fonts at 10–10.5, titles at 12, and your name at 16–20. ? Use the borders and shading feature in Word to distinguish titles of different sections of your resume (e.g., experience, education). ? Only use colored text for headers and/or your name. Simplicity is easy, and it helps put the focus on what really matters: your content! Keep your resume clean with plenty of white space so the important content POPS!
