One thing I find helpful is to keep the long term goals in mind as well as possible future solutions to achieve these goals. This is especially important when current technology may not be able to support them or too expensive to implement. I find implementing any solution that can "leave the door open" for future implementation/improvement helps the team to compromise and come to a consensus.

Listen without judgment! Understand your team's priorities. Are they concerned about aesthetics, cost, or something else? Once you know their perspective, use your expertise to educate gently. I find that though long term operational costs and our commitment to being eco-friendly usually generate a better charm at convincing, energy efficient design options are usually not the cheapest options and parties have to, in most cases, decide on what’s best for the project and make an informed choice on the way forward. Guided decision making has always been my preferred approach to such bottlenecks.
