If needed, involve a neutral expert to mediate discussions.

I would like at this from the recent perspective I have learnt of systems thinking. This approach presents quite a number of tool and people streams that can be combined to ensure that stakeholders come into an agreement. There is a concept of critical systems heuristics that touches on diversity with perspectives. We tally stakeholders on variables of the various types of influence - control, legitimacy, motivation, knowledge - and the shareholding, stake and stakeholders. This mapping brings in elements of priority that ensures diverse perspectives are brought to a common ground especially when evaluating sustainability priorities as our situation of inquiry!
