Start with good intent assumption. Ensure that you are aligned on the shared goals. From my experience, most of the times, different interpretations of the goals by stakeholders lead to this divide between stakeholders. If goals are same, evaluate their idea objectively and how it helps the overarching business goals. If their idea is better, admit it openly. If not, have an open discussion on why your take on the feature helps the company.
