I stay ahead by consistently engaging with industry reports, networking with thought leaders, and attending key events. Regularly applying new insights to solve real-world problems helps maintain relevance with senior stakeholders.

Senior stakeholders come in many forms, shapes, sizes, interest, agenda, etc etc. Their background could be in finance, sales, marketing, customer service, operations, etc, be it board members or stakeholders in your client's organisation. We engage them at different times, with different topics for different reasons, e.g. budget approval? As an IT professional I will ensure that I am on top of IT trends at all times. For stakeholders engagement, I will research their background and identify points of relevance in trends and commonality to both industries to use in our engagement to build consensus and support. It will not do anyone good if stakeholders do not see the relevance nor the understanding you try to build during the process.
