Design thinking is one of the most powerful approaches in customer-centric product development. It forces teams to understand the problem thoroughly first BEFORE starting the product design. It asks important questions to ensure that a product is - desirable (customers actually demand for it) - feasible (capabilities exist or are reachable for building it) - viable (... at affordable cost incl. investments) - sustainable (it scales according to growth targets and with an optimal asset lifecycle, i.e. with limited environmental impact) Furthermore, design thinking ensures that abstract and visionary formulations become tangible and imaginable by creating personas and story maps, that help teams put themselves into a customer's shoes.
