"Migration is a nightmare!" I never worked on a migration project and loved it. Here are some pitfalls (that may seem stating the obvious) and how I think could've been avoided; - Unclear priorities; usually these projects are overwhelming, priorities definition is a key starting point - Scattered ownership; multiple teams are involved, a clear focal point must be defined - Dedication; long projects like migration usually take the back-seat if it doesn't have dedicated teams, time allocation to this project must be respected - Integrate quick-wins on regular intervals in the plan to keep the team spirit up-lifted - Provide extra set of hands whenever possible - Keep an eye on the prize, regular reminders of why we do this migration
